It is the mission of the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy to provide exemplary, state-of-the-art training to our members, those of our partner-agencies and any other who may benefit.  We aim to prepare public servants to become the epitome of professionalism within their respective fields and craft and seek to assist in the personal and career development of all. The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy will strive to facilitate quality, modern-day instruction to keep law enforcement on the cutting edge and up to date on current trends. We are dedicated to exceeding the training standards set forth by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, and the Texas Department of Public Safety.

PROFESSIONALSIM:

We shall commit ourselves to professionalism.  Professionalism stands for the capability, integrity and expertise demonstrated by members in the performance of their duties. The public we serve and the law enforcement community we work within expect and deserve professional and devoted public servants. We shall make choices based on what is right and fair and understand that professionalism includes seeking knowledge and honing our craft.  The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy and Training Team commits to providing opportunities to increase the professionalism in the field of law enforcement.

SUPPORT:

We shall seek the trust of the pubic by training highly capable and ethical public servants.  We seek the trust of our peers by displaying the conduct we expect of others, and utilizing the knowledge that we teach.  The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy and Training Team believes that we serve and support our members and partners by mentoring and diligently providing opportunities for personal growth and career development.

DUTY:

We shall display pride in our commitment to service and duty.  Not boastful or arrogant pride, but pride in service with distinction through the execution of duties with the highest degree of integrity.  The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy and Training Team believes that knowledge and skills are worthy of respect and our public demands a commitment to them.  We must understand that we have committed to our peers and community that our actions will meet our words.

Attendees shall arrive by the scheduled time of the training, no matter the location.  Attendees shall make every effort to notify a member of the Career Development Team in the event their arrival will be delayed.

Attendees, no matter the location, shall dress in either their agency approved uniform or other professional attire such as, collared or button up shirts, slacks or jeans without any cuts or holes.

Attendees training at other locations, such as at the outdoor gun range, will abide by dress codes for those respective locations or will be consistent with the trainer's requested attire.

No sweatshirts and/or graphic T-shirts will be allowed.

Attendees who choose not to wear their agency uniform and choose to carry their duty weapon, the attendee’s shirt shall be tucked in, and the weapon shall be holstered and worn with a belt and the attendee's department badge shall be visible.
